Stevan Lee Mraovitch, a New York City native with rich Taiwanese and Serbian roots, stands as a beacon of multicultural artistic expression. Renowned for his versatile talents in poetry, photography, and filmmaking, his works beautifully weave together diverse cultural threads.
By age 22, Stevan had already made his mark with the evocative poetry collection, "Analgesia, the Scars of Love and Revolts." This poetic journey into nostalgia and brotherhood against a war-torn Yugoslavian backdrop led to a collaboration with the eminent Serbian painter, Petar Omcikus, a respected member of the Serbian Academy of Arts and Science.
Stevan's foray into cinema began at France's distinguished ESEC film school. After obtaining his MFA from Columbia University, he cultivated a lasting partnership with his professor, the esteemed film producer Michael Hausman, with whom he has since produced a series of noteworthy films. During this phase, Stevan also had the privilege of working alongside Oscar-winning director Barry Levinson and collaborated with the multifaceted actress and filmmaker Julie Delpy, reflecting his versatility and adaptability in the cinematic realm.
Melding European and American film styles, Stevan always seeks to tell genuine, heartfelt stories. His directorial venture, "Holidays at all cost," was warmly received and clinched both Jury and Audience Awards at the Austin Film Festival.
